based on biophysical characteristics of biologically active skin points with the estimation of the adaptation resources of the organism.

The PC-based program allows to carry out the Reflex Diagnostics using 12 various methods (as none of them separately can fully reflect the state of the patient's health). It also makes lists of acupuncture points, necessary for the treatment of this or that patient. These lists are compiled on the basis of the patient's laboratory tests. Besides, it makes it possible to analyze and correct the chosen method, using the reference materials on Reflex Diagnostics (in the form of tables and drawings), as well as to keep all the data referring to the patient's check-up and all the information on the patients (their case records including) in the archives and in printed form.

Acupuncture methods are special because they make use of the mechanisms of the body organs and life-providing systems functional relations with Biologically Active Points (BAP) of the body. These relations have been confirmed by electrophysiology since the discovery of skin currents (E.Du Bois Reymond, 1857) and their relations with physiological state of the organism (Ferre, 1888). Later various theories (secretory, ionic, membrane), which explained the nature of skin currents and their functional dependence on central and vegetative nervous systems (I.R. Tarhanov, 1889; V.Yu. Tchagovets, 1903; S. Veidman, 1956) have been proposed. During the further investigation (A.K. Podshibjakin, 1952-1960; Y. Nakatani,1958; A.I. Netchushkin, 1973; F.G. Portnov; P. Nogier; R. Voll; I. Bratu, etc.) several methods of diagnostics have been created.

In human body there exist many systems transmitting energy. So the notion of human health is determined by the fact how evenly all the person's energy is distributed in these systems, that is how well the energy in the systems is balanced. When under the influence of harmful agents or pathogenous energy the body's energy becomes disbalanced compensation mechanisms aimed at the restoring of the equilibrium are turned on. The environment information in form of magnetic, radioactive, light and thermal radiation is received by the organism through BAP. Then the information is transmitted by systems of meridians and collaterals to the organs related with BAP, changing their functioning. If it leads to abnormal functioning, the organs (through the mechanism of the feed-back connection) influence the state of the BAP (changing electric and magnetic potentials of the point, its temperature, conductivity, biochemical reactions, etc.). So the amount of information going through BAP to the organs either increases or decreases. At the same time compensation mechanisms for restoring normal functioning of the organ are switched on. At this stage the person feels well considering himself to be healthy though these deviations can be already detected by means of the presented methods of diagnostics. Using these methods we can prevent diseases, not only cure them. The period during which compensation mechanisms are at work may be either short or long, but it remains very important because at this time very small preventive measures aimed at restoring energy balance (acupuncture, self-regulation, drinking mineral waters, sauna etc.) are enough to prevent the disease. Later, when compensation mechanisms of the body cannot restore the energy balance or they become exhausted the patient begins to feel some deviation and starts having complaints.

Thus measuring of temperature and electric resistance in BAP yields information about the state of corresponding meridians and organs. Each method separately allows to observe only some of the many energy systems of the body. But to obtain the correct diagnosis it is imperative to check-up all the systems as some deviations in energy balance may be present in some of them and be absent in others. That is why there are cases when the treatment of patients with acupuncture according to the conventional rules of determining acupuncture points yields no results which happens because patients are not diagnosed properly with the view of determining his or her own deviations and finding out what should be treated. So this program includes several methods which make it possible to check all the systems while none of them can do it separately. This package of programs is unique because for the first time in the history of computer diagnostics it includes methods allowing to check-up not only the primary energy system comprising 12 main meridians but also the secondary system comprising some scores of meridians such as skin-protective, muscle-protective, closing-connective, inner-protective, hereditary-controlling, energy-accumulating whose role is mostly to protect the main meridians from pathogenic energy. And this is information on the secondary energy system which is so important for carrying out preventive measures because the deviations from secondary meridians later appear in the main ones but these deviations are corrected much quicker and easier when they yet belong to the secondary system.

Nowadays emotional stresses are wide-spread and people suffer more and more from neuroses which cause pains and aches in various quite healthy organs. So both the doctor's and the patient's time and energy are wasted when doctors try to help such patients making elaborate and useless laboratory tests. To detect such deviations and spare the patients as well as the doctors this hard and tense work (which may worsen the neurotic condition of a patient) we included into the program a method of psychological testing allowing for detection of such deviations with the view of their direct treatment. Sometimes while one system is being treated there may occur changes in some other systems and those changes might not always be positive. A special feature of this package of methods is that it makes it possible to take into account these changes in other systems, which helps to avoid various complications sometimes caused by acupuncture.

Another advantage of the program is the fact that sophisticated medical equipment becomes unnecessary and the part of the body under examination are easily accessible. These features and the ease of computer interpretation make reflexodiagnostics methods very useful for mass screening. The comparison of the obtained results with results by clinical and laboratory methods gives the validity of 92%. And the remaining 8% include those compensated deviations which cannot be diagnosed by clinical methods and are not yet felt by the patient.

The method by Nakatani allows to determine the state of 12 main meridians. The electroauriculodiagnostics shows the afflicted organs. The Bratu's method reveals the state of the secondary system of perpendicular-protective meridians. Voll's method partially integrates the above methods. The acupuncture diagnostics is based on the questionnaire and finds out primary meridians with obvious deviations. Psychological state of a patient is revealed through special psychological tests.

The measuring of skin resistance and temperature yields the information about the state of the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of vegetative nervous system.

Programme Usage

The program is based on the well-known in acupuncture tables and rules of calculation and estimation.

It includes 12 diagnostics methods:

[1]-[4] - are the variations of the "Ryodoraku" method by Nakatani. The first is based on measurement of temperature in 24 points, the other three - on measurement of electric current in the same points with the short circuit current of 200, 100 and 20 ľA. The last method allows spared diagnostics with more valid results.

[5]-[6] - are the methods by Bratu with measurement of temperature and current, by the results of which the state of the perpendicular-protective channels can be estimated.

[7] - is electroauriculodiagnostics based on measurement of current in acupuncture points of cochleae which makes it possible to reveal the afflicted organs.

[8] - is combined from some versions of Voll's method.

[9] - represents the psychological test by Dr. F.B.Berezin followed by the Kettell's Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire. It allows to find out personal features and psychopathology of a patient.

[10] - is a method puls diagnostics.

[11] - is a method which allows to diagnose secondary energy systems such as: skin-protective, muscle-protective, closing-connective, inner-protective, hereditary-controlling, energy-accumulating channels.

[12] - is a method Su Jok diagnostics.

Besides the program includes reference materials on acupuncture (laws of interaction of channels, rules of channels stimulation in tables and figures; a set of acupuncture pictures showing the points on the body and on the cochleas including the names of the points in any system and the list of the diseases which can be treated using these points). This reference manual can be of use to the doctors at any stage of diagnosis in interpretation of the data received. Still further the manual is very helpful in selecting the points for treatment.

The lists of various acupuncture points are given together with their locations, direction designation and the depths of the punctures as well as the list of the diseases which are treated through these points.

There is also a programme calculating the activity time of every channel and planet for any date and a program calculating acupuncture points activity for any time of the day (that is the time when the points are open). This information heightens the effects of the treatment and shortens the time of treatment. Using the programme a physician enters the data of measurements in corresponding points and immediately receives a chart of meridians state in five gradations: normal, a little excess/deficiency and a significant excess/deficiency. Depending on the results of a patient's examination the program provides sets of acupuncture points necessary for the patient's treatment. The results may be stored in archive and printed. The memory can store practically limitless lists of patients with various information on them. Searching, sorting out, additions removal and entrance according to some standard patterns are provided for. At any time screen reference with users manual is available. There also exists a possibility to register every patient's case history which may be recorded daily so as the whole treatment is put into archives.

In the inquiry part there is also an encyclopedia on reflexotherapy with the information from acient Chinese works on treatment of different illnesses with the explanation of reasons of their origins and with the proposed sets of acupuncture points.

There is also a possibility to obtain sets of acupuncture points necessary for treatment depending on the results of the examination. Additional recommendations on the methods of application are also provided. Lists of recommendations are given for two methods of applications: a soft method for disease prevention and a harder method for disease treatment.

There is a CERTIFICATE, a RECOMMENDATION and a PATENT on this programm.
